You may have heard of the computer problem known as the blue screen of death. This refers to when a computer is about to crash and a blue screen will appear with white computer text letters. This type of error will usually occur out of no where and the computer will completely stop working. While everyone has heard the term blue screen of death, it is actually a very rare problem that happens to computer users. However, it is a potential problem that can happen to computer users. The blue screen of death can be caused by a number of different problems happening to your computer.
The first cause of the blue screen of death is malicious software. Many malicious software programs will install themselves on a computer and change the computer’s settings without the computer user knowing. A simple scan of the computer system with both an anti-virus program and anti-spyware program will get rid of any malicious software that is causing the blue screen to appear.
The second cause of the blue screen is a hard drive problem. When a hard drive becomes damaged the system will not have the ability to access the files it needs to start. This will result in a blue screen. Hard drive issues are the most common result of blue screens appearing. Many hardware issues cannot be solved by a novice computer user and will need to be handled by a professional computer technician.
The third cause of a blue screen appearing on the computer screen is that of a registry error. Every time a computer program is deleted or uploaded to a computer it leaves registry keys and registry gaps. Occasionally while downloading or deleting programs the registry keys can become corrupt. Corrupt registry keys will result in the computer putting up a blue screen because it cannot properly operate.
