Michael Schneider - EuroISPA
Attorney
at law Michael Schneider was one of the founders of EUnet Deutschland
GmbH (now: UUNET Deutschland GmbH) and General Manager of its majority
shareholder at that point in time. As of 1991 he was appointed to the
executive management of EUnet Deutschland GmbH and became its interim
chairman in 1995. In 1994 and 1995 he led negotiations which successively
led to the sale of the share of EUnet. As of 1994 he was Vice President
of CNI Communications Network International GmbH (now: Mannesmann ARCOR
AG & Co.) responsible for Value Added Services. In 1996 he and colleagues
founded the consulting firm IntraNet GmbH as well as a law firm. From
April 1999 until June 2000 he was also CEO of AboveNet Deutschland GmbH
and of World Switch GmbH, both in Frankfurt/Main. Further, since 1995
Mr. Schneider has been Board Member, from 1997 until December 1999 chair
of the Internet-business association eco – electronic commerce forum
e.V. Additionally he was Vice President of the European Internet Service
Providers Association (EuroISPA) from June 1998 and as of January 1999
until August 1999 President of EuroISPA; since November 1997 he has
also been head of the Directorate 'Regulation and Self-Regulation' of
EuroISPA. Finally he is chair of the complaints department of the Association
'Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle der Multimedia-Diensteanbieter' (FSM) (voluntary
self-control of multimedia service providers). He was also one of the
founders of the Internet Content Rating Alliance, now Member of the
Board of its successor Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA). Last
but not least, he has been on the Names Council of ICANN, representing
the ISP and Connectivity Providers’ constituency since May 1999.
Hirofumi Hotta - NTT
In 1980,
Mr. Hotta completed his Master’s Degree of Engineering (Computer Science)
and from 1980 to 1992 was researcher in NTT’s Software Engineering department.
From 1992 until 1995 Hirofumi Hotta was manager in NTT Software Laboratory
(Research Strategy & Human Resource Development), then became Researcher
in NTT’s E-Commerce System until 1996 and then was promoted to Senior
Manager in the NTT Internet Service Division until 1998 (Server Systems
Development and Technical Sales). Since 1999 he has been Senior Manager
of NTT (Research & Development Strategy for Group Companies) as
well as Vice Chair and Board Secretary of APIA (Asia & Pacific Internet
Association) of which he became President in September 2000.
Antonio Harris - CABASE
As
a member of the F1 staff of Cable and Wireless Ltd (London), Tony Harris
worked in Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and Puerto Rico (1958-1969). He
then worked for Western Union International (New York) as manager for
Argentina (1969-1978). Following this, Mr. Harris was General Manager
of Norpen S.A. (Textile Industry) in Argentina (1978-1982), then became
consultant, and Region Representative for FTC Communications Inc. -
New York (1986/1989), and Country Representative for BT North America
Inc. - Reston, VA (1990-1995). In addition, he was Director of International
Relations for Politronics S.A. - an Argentine manufacturer of PABX equipment
(1986-1997) in charge of international marketing and establishing manufacturing
arrangements in Taiwan.
Antonio Harris is founding member
of the Argentina Chamber of Databases and Online Services (CABASE),
founded in 1989, and currently serves as Executive Director of this
institution. He is currently also engaged in production of an online
Trade Leads Databank for customers in various Latin American countries.
Siegfried Langenbach - CSL
Siegfried
Langenbach is the founder of Computer Service Langenbach GmbH, a German
ISP. CSL was founded in 1972 specializing in statistical research. In
1994 Internet activities were added. CSL is also an ICANN accredited
registrar. Mr. Langenbach was involved in the creation of DENIC, the
German NIC, and was the first chair of the DENIC supervisory board.

Barbara Dooley - Commercial
Internet eXchange
Barbara Dooley is president
of the Commercial Internet eXchange Association, the world’s oldest
international trade association of Internet Service Providers, whose
members carry approximately 3/4 of global Internet traffic. Previously,
she was a strategic business consultant specializing in worldwide ISP
interconnection for the engineering consulting firm, Dimension Enterprises,
Herndon, Virginia, and the managing editor and publisher of the ISP
industry newsletter, CIX.tra. From 1992-95 she worked in voice operations
at Sprint International (now Global One).
